Salesforce

Salesforce began in 1999 in San Francisco by launching customer relationship management (CRM) software that was hosted on the internet and made available by subscription, pioneering the model known as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). The company has grown to become one of the world’s biggest enterprise software companies, with 2023 revenues of $31.35 billion and employing over 70,00 people globally.

An early move into Ireland

In 2000, just one year after Salesforce was founded, Ireland became its first hub to open outside of the US. At that time, Ireland was already home to successful tech businesses such as Dell, IBM and Intel. The company’s offices grew steadily, and within 10 years the Dublin workforce had grown to 400 people. In 2013, Salesforce opened a second office in Dublin, adding 100 new roles.

In 2023, the company opened Salesforce Tower Dublin, a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient development that brings all of the company’s area employees from across Europe together in a new development.

Significant Irish expansion

When the Tower Dublin plan was first announced in 2019, Salesforce said it would add 1,500 new jobs over a five-year period. Now its Irish operation has more than 2,500 employees from diverse backgrounds representing 60 different nationalities, making it one of Salesforce’s largest campuses in the EMEA region.

Today, from its base in Dublin’s Silicon Docks area, Salesforce’s Irish business covers a broad range of functions including customer success, business technology, marketing, finance and employee services. Dublin is also home to the European Shared Service Centre for Salesforce, playing a crucial role in the company’s growth in the region.

From its Dublin Tower, Salesforce’s customer success and business development teams provide implementation and technical solutions to help customers across the region implement Salesforce and power their digital transformation. Ireland remains an important hub for Salesforce and the company continues to invest and grow here.
